GM Monthly Update | May 2026
Posted By Manager on July 20, 2021
Dear OSL Owners & Residents:
Welcome to a new month here at San Francisco’s premier waterfront.
Thank you for the opportunities for community engagement last month. On behalf of the art committee, we are thankful for the Owners who took part in the Art Salon event held on April 2nd. Your attendance, participation in discussions of the various works on view, and the perspectives you shared were very helpful. For those who shared feedback via the survey, the insights you shared here go a long way toward best understanding the voice of all who reside here at One Steuart Lane. This proceeding will certainly remain one that is rooted in feasibility and working with the board of directors to determine what is in the long-term interests of the Association.
To the other highlights from April, we enjoyed hearing about all the woof and purr responses our OSL pets enjoyed from our recognition of National Pet Day with them. Thank you for the photo shares of their enjoyment of the treats and gestures that we curated for them. For our wellness enthusiasts, another month of success with our continued Saturday morning wellness rituals. The 3rd floor dominated the April 18th class – which floor will compete with them for greatest representation!?! According to Jan, the month also brought record numbers in the consumption of our featured coffee. From where we were in the beginning to where we are now, with the popularity of this amenity, it brings continued joy to hear such reports on the delights of this service to support your everyday living enjoyment. Please continue to savor.
As it relates to building maintenance, we express our appreciation to you for the agility that was of need as we facilitated the garage flooring repair work at the entrance. What a difference this work has made to not only improve presentation, but to address deterioration that had come from vehicle movement and weather exposure. We certainly look forward to the long-term endurance of this new product for the years ahead. As mentioned in April, the city streetscape improvement also began along the Howard Street corridor.
To our Owners, we very much appreciate your engagement in the board meeting of the Association that was held on April 16th. Important business was conducted centered on a productive homeowner forum and the approvals for the building’s insurance renewal and other needs. For those unable to make the meeting, per usual, you may find the minutes from the meeting on the resident portal. If there should be anything following your review, certainly allow me to be available for anything pertaining to what was discussed.
As we journey into the new month, you are invited to take part in our final First Friday event of the season – taking place today (May 1st) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the outdoor terrace. It will be a vibe, featuring curated music on the speakers, cook-to-order food selections from Taquizas los Gonzalez, and a bartender on deck who will have margaritas, beers, and Aguas frescas for your savoring. Don’t miss the special time under the bridge twilight with fellow neighbors. Our wellness rituals will continue with the offering of Mat Pilates on May 9th and 23rd at 10:00 a.m. Please share notice with Brenda so she may anticipate you in the headcount. Another joyful highlight will be Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10th. On this special day, we look forward to recognizing the ladies of all beings for all that you do in the everyday lives of others.
Our featured coffee on brew is a product of Saint Frank – their Brother Sun roast. We invite you to savor the notes here on the selection and enjoy in the new month.
For our Owners, a reminder to our request for your completion of the annual notice of address, representative, and rental status. This is important as Owners to provide to the Association annually, particularly if there has been changes in your home address – or legal representation, or residency status – which I know applies to several of you. We ask that you please assist us with this exercise by providing your completed form to the lobby ambassador-on-duty or to Gina Leon Peters via email gpeters@actionlife.com by May 15th to allow us to update your records for the Association.
To keep you informed, the Howard streetscape project continues with excavation activity through May 13th. For more information on the project, please visit the project site here. It’s also Bay to Breakers time here in the city – Sunday, May 17th. Please anticipate more information from Gina on what to expect; however, we invite you to begin to anticipate by visiting their site here for what to expect.
As it relates to recognitions, we look forward to recognizing the following occasions for other team members: Birthdays – May 2nd – Phoung Tran (Valet), May 13th – Austin Chan (Valet), and May 23rd – Jan Halpern (Lobby Desk). We are also thrilled to celebrate the upcoming graduation of Mr. Christian Varela who will be earning his undergraduate degree in Cyber Security from California State University San Marcos. What’s cool about this accomplishment for Christian is that the program is the first of its kind and part of “The National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C),” which made the pursuit challenging but rewarding in the end. If you see him prior to May 15th, please certainly extend your wishes to him on this well-earned accomplishment that he has been pursuing over the course of his nearly four (4) year tenure here at One Steuart Lane.
With appreciation to you for the privilege of continued service. Cheers to the new month ahead, and as always, we remain to support you always. Wishing you a safe and enjoyable May ahead.
Warmest regards,
James Gordon, CMCA, AMS
